Melissa Schuurman, NP JEKT

Melissa Schuurman is a Nurse Practitioner, licensed in both Ontario and Michigan, and is pleased to offer health & wellness consults, cosmetic injections, wellness infusions & injections, and sclerotherapy from the JEKT office located within HAP HQ. She launched her medical career over a decade ago, graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Her diverse experience spans acute care, emergency care, home healthcare, and primary care settings. In 2019, she expanded her expertise by earning her Master's Degree, further solidifying her foundation in the medical field. Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in medical aesthetics and holistic wellness.

From a young age, Melissa has had a profound passion for sports. She began her athletic journey at six, diving into competitive swimming. Throughout her high school years, she excelled in both short and long-distance running - a pursuit she continues today - participating in half marathons, triathlons, and even completing her first half Ironman in 2022. Melissa has become a staple in the local cross-training community, adding valuable strength training experience to complement her endurance. Her love for friendly competition fosters a positive, encouraging, and motivating environment amongst her peers - that's why we love her at HAP!

Equipped with extensive knowledge and skills, Melissa offers health and wellness consultations through a holistic lens, complemented by an evidence-based medical approach. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has the autonomy to order diagnostic tests – including blood work, X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs; she can also provide referrals for private insurance coverage and specialist consultations, and prescribe medications.
