Gideon Hesman
My name is Gideon, and I am the founder of Hesman Athletics and Performance. I have been involved in athletics since high school and played a year of varsity football at McMaster University. Despite being a physical top performer, I have always struggled with injuries keeping me from reaching my full potential. I’ve spent the better part of the last decade searching for training methods and healthcare practitioners to help me reach my goals despite my setbacks. Our facility is the actualization of a dream that I’ve had for a long time, a place where—under one roof—people training at any degree of intensity with a variety of goals can be completely supported. These days my training preferences are picking up heavy things and cycling, but in the past I have enjoyed a large range of sports and training styles. My current training focus is staying strong and fit for my full time job firefighting as well as promoting my long term health so that I can be at my best for my wife and daughter.
Leah Hesman
My name is Leah! I am a Registered Kinesiologist and have been working in both the clinical and gym settings for the past 4 years. I graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Medical Physiology. I spent the last 3 years working in a physiotherapy clinic here in Windsor, where most of my work was centered around the general population and athlete-level rehabilitation. Having dealt with a handful of injuries myself, I am passionate about helping individuals explore ways to adapt their training to promote injury resiliency and performance capacity. I spend a lot of my free time weight training, playing volleyball, and going on many, many trail walks with my puppy.
Jocelyn Matte
Hi I’m Jocelyn! I love coaching and making the gym a fun space for people, I want to help others be healthy so they can feel the best they can and so that they can do whatever they set their minds to!
Jocelyn’s current training goals:
Working towards a handful of gymnastic skills (muscle up, handstands..etc.)
Training strength to add 100lbs to each lift.
Maintain conditioning and mobility to always feel healthy and capable of doing anything!
Hunter Lee
Hey there! My name is Hunter, I am 24 years old and have been boxing since the age of 12. I have a huge passion for Boxing and have competed in 151 amateur fights, winning multiple golden gloves, national titles, and even representing Canada at international tournaments. In 2018, I began my mentorship in personal training from an experienced trainer from MH100 and from that point on knew It was what I’m meant to do. I quickly earned my certification from the ISSA and continue to take courses because "you're never done learning in this industry!" I love connecting with my clients and helping them achieve what they didn't think was possible.
"Its not going to be quick and easy to achieve your dreams, but its all about loving the process and improving just 1% every day!"
Vu Ngo
Hey everyone, my name is Vu and I’ve been a personal trainer for nearly a decade.
My philosophy is that your well-being and overall health is for more than just the physical; but it’s also to prioritize your mental and emotional health. With emphasis on the “personal” - I come into this space with an open mind and friendly approach. The biggest part I love about my job is that I am able to connect with so many peers and form many long lasting friendships and memories.
Throughout the years, I’ve had the great opportunity to help guide many individuals of diverse populations and demographics work towards and achieve their own health and fitness goals. I am excited to join the HAP team for this next chapter of my career and continue to meet and build strong, heathy relationships within my community!

Megan Devogelaere
Dylan Langlois
Hello, my name is James Thoman! I've trained in a variety of sports, from baseball and boxing, to Olympic weightlifting, giving me a well-rounded perspective on athletic development. These experiences have shaped how I coach—prioritizing movement quality, smart progression, and helping athletes build confidence in their training. My focus is on creating structured, effective programs that support both performance and longevity.
At Hesman Athletics & Performance, I work to make training approachable, challenging, and results-driven. Whether it’s refining weightlifting technique, leading group classes, or guiding HYROX training, my goal is to meet athletes where they are and help them improve. Coaching isn’t just about the workout—it’s about education, mindset, and building a strong community that supports every athlete’s journey.
